The most sought-after profiles

This trend is explained by the fact that these profiles are very quickly operational. They demonstrate a strong ability to adapt, an understanding and a certain proximity to the local culture.

For example, candidates with technical profiles: engineers, experts or those who are destined to support the financial director, operations director, sales director, marketing director, etc.

In addition, there are senior executives, department managers or company directors, technical directors, civil engineering and road engineers, grain crop managers, fish farm managers, risk managers, etc.

The study also points out that candidates must be at least bilingual in French and English, as they represent the link between companies working according to Western methods and local cultures.

We also note an evolution in the typology of positions in certain countries. In North African industry, for example, we are looking for operations managers to improve site productivity, and engineers with specialized skills in R&D and quality, particularly in the automotive sector for the Maghreb zone, which outsources production to Europe.

The survey also highlights the advent in 2015 of new needs around poultry and fish farming in Senegal, communication professions in Burkina Faso, Congo, in the banking sector in Cameroon, and in Egypt. Countries such as Kenya and Uganda are investing massively in information technology.

In the future, the study predicts many important positions to be filled in the construction and civil engineering sectors, road, port and hydroelectric infrastructures.
