How to Start Selling on Amazon: The Ultimate Guide

If you’re looking to start selling on Amazon, this guide is for you. We’ll cover everything you need to know to get started, from setting up your account to listing your products and shipping them to Amazon customers. By the end of this guide, you’ll be ready to start selling on Amazon and generating revenue for your business.

  1. Create an Amazon seller account.

To sell on Amazon, you’ll need to create a seller account. This account will be used to manage your listings and orders and will be the primary way you interact with Amazon as a seller. To create an account, go to Amazon’s seller registration page and fill out the required information. Be sure to use accurate contact information, as this will be used to verify your identity and communicate with you about your account.

  1. Choose your selling plan.

Once you’ve created your account, you’ll need to choose a selling plan. helium10 xray offers two selling plans: the Professional plan and the Individual plan. The Professional plan is best for sellers who plan to list more than 40 items per month, while the Individual plan is best for sellers who plan to list fewer than 40 items per month. If you’re just starting, we recommend choosing the Individual plan to keep costs low.

  1. List your products.

Once you’ve chosen your selling plan, you can start listing products on Amazon. To list a product, go to the “Sell on Amazon” page and click on the “Add a Product” button. From here, you’ll be able to enter the details of your product, including the name, price, condition, and product category. Be sure to include accurate and complete information, as this will help your product appear in relevant search results. If you are unsure about which category to choose, select “Other” and include a detailed description of your product in the text box.

  1. Set up shipping.

Once you’ve listed your product, you’ll need to set up shipping. Amazon offers two shipping options for sellers: Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) and Fulfillment by Merchant (FBM). FBA is a hands-off approach where Amazon will handle shipping and customer service for your products, while FBM is a more traditional approach where you’ll be responsible for shipping and customer service. We recommend using FBA for your first few products, as it will save you time and money in the long run. After your first few products have been selling well using FBA, you can then use a combination of FBA and merchant-fulfilled products.

  1. Promote your products.

Once your products are listed and shipping is set up, you’ll need to promote your products to generate sales. Amazon offers a few different marketing tools to help you promote your products, including Amazon Advertising and Amazon Product Listings. You can also promote your products through your website and social media channels. You’ll need to choose the products you want to sell, create listings for those products, set up shipping, and then start promoting your products.

With these five steps, you’re ready to start selling on Amazon. If you’re looking for more information about how to sell on Amazon, check out Amazon’s seller help center.
